Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain has declared an emergency to the part of the Municipality that lies north of County Road 42 and West of Duck Creek due to flooding.

“Heavy rains have impacted a number of residents and staff are moving quickly to respond to this significant weather event” said Mayor Bain.

If you are experiencing flooding,  you area asked to contact the after-hours number at 519-728-2488 to leave a message with your address.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has elevated the existing Flood Watch to a Flood Warning for the Lakeshore and Tecumseh areas. This warning is expected to remain in effect until Sunday, July 17th at 10:00am.

If you are in an active flooding area, avoid using water (flushing toilets, doing laundry, etc) if possible until sewer systems catch up, as this may increase pressure on the Municipal system.
