The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility at mass-vaccination sites for the general population aged 50 and older.
They say adults aged 50 years and older in 2021, born in 1971 or earlier, will be able to register to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at one of the vaccination sites to receive a first dose at a mass-vaccination site:
- WFCU in Windsor
- St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor
- Windsor Hall Downtown Windsor
- 1407 Moy Clinic
- Libro Centre in Amherstburg
- Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington
Previously adults aged 50 to 54 in the general population — not in other priority groups — were only able to book an appointment if they lived in one of the area’s hot spot postal codes, or through a pharmacy (AstraZeneca).
The Health Unit says vaccinations at all of the clinics are by appointment only and walk-ins are not permitted. The mass vaccination clinics distribute either the Pfizer BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
