The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility at mass-vaccination sites for the general population aged 40 and older.
They say adults aged 40 years and older in 2021, born in 1981 or earlier, will be able to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at one of the vaccination sites to receive a first dose:
- WFCU in Windsor
- St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor
- Windsor Hall Downtown Windsor
- 1407 Moy Clinic
- Libro Centre in Amherstburg
- Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington
Previously adults aged 40 to 49 in the general population — not in other priority groups — were only able to book an appointment if they lived in one of the area’s hot spot postal codes, or through a pharmacy (AstraZeneca).
The Health Unit says vaccinations at all of the clinics are by appointment only and walk-ins are not permitted. The mass vaccination clinics distribute either the Pfizer BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
