The City of Windsor is looking to add a baseball diamond by converting one of two “seldom-used” football fields at Realtor Park.
Realtor Park is a 23-acre site located at 1390 Homedale Boulevard in Riverside. The park is currently home to a playground, splash pad, washroom facilities, two tennis/pickle ball courts, three baseball diamonds, two football fields and some bleachers.
City of Windsor staff have reimagined the park to convert the football field closest to the parking lot and play area into a baseball diamond while maintaining a football/soccer field on the south end.
This change would better utilize the space for area athletes and families once COVID-19 restrictions are eased and construction is complete, as the demand for football facilities has dwindled.
Traditionally, a public information centre would be held to discuss the project in person. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the city has put together a webpage for public review and feedback instead.
Please visit the Realtor Park Baseball Diamond page for more information, and email [email protected] or phone 519-253-2300 prior to Tuesday May 21st, 2021.
