Another section of busy Huron Church will be rebuilt this spring and summer.

This phase of work will see the reconstruction and panel replacement of Huron Church Road from Tecumseh Road West to College Avenue.

The city says that this section of Huron Church sees more than 60,000 vehicles per day, including over 10,000 trucks per day going to and coming from the Ambassador Bridge. The roadway section has significantly deteriorated due to the heavy volumes of traffic and annual freeze-thaw cycles and requires full reconstruction.

The project includes the demolition and removal of existing concrete road, concrete sidewalks, concrete median and traffic signal infrastructure from College Avenue to Girardot Street and concrete panel replacement from Girardot Street to Tecumseh Road.

A new traffic signal will also be installed on Huron Church Road at the Tecumseh intersection.

Construction activities will be carried out seven days a week and 24 hours a day to the extent that the construction operations will allow.

Work is expected to start in April.
