There’s a new owner for a historic Walkerville building.

The Rosati Group has purchased the property at 2090 Wyandotte Street East which houses local radio stations and commercial tenants including Slices Pizza and a new restaurant coming soon to the former site of F&B Walkerville.

The building, which was constructed around 1920, once housed a driver’s testing centre through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, and was restored in 1999.

The Davison family, the building’s previous owners, say its future is “secure once again”.

“It is time to pass the torch to another family who cares about the area as much as we do,” says Christine Davison of commercial real estate company Lessor Limited. “Although this is a bittersweet time for our family, we feel confident in the Rosati’s ability to ensure the future of the building.”

The former owners say the building was slated for demolition in the 1970s but was purchased by local accountant Terry Davison.

“I had always valued the area’s architectural gems,” says Terry Davison. “I knew that saving this property was worth the hard work and determination to ensure it wasn’t erased from Windsorites’ memories.”

The previous owners say they were heavily involved in ensuring the property’s health and aesthetics were respected and they restored the building’s exterior in 1999.
