25 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 25 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Sunday, bringing the local total to 12,771.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 12,746 on Saturday February 20th to 12,771 on Sunday February 21st and 306 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 1 case is outbreak-related, 4 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 9 cases are community-acquired, and 11 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today:

  • 1,224 people have received only their first dose of the vaccine (-71 since yesterday)
  • 11,235 people have received both doses of the vaccine (full series) (+179 since yesterday)
  • A total of 23,694 doses have been administered to Windsor-Essex County residents (+287 since yesterday)

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 12,093 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 8 resolved cases today.

Deaths

There have been no additional deaths from COVID-19 today and the local death toll stands at 372.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 41 hospitalizations today: 35 people in acute care, and 6 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
