2 New Deaths, 20 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Thursday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 20 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Thursday, bringing the local total to 12,253.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 12,233 on Wednesday February 3rd to 12,253 on Thursday February 4th and 402 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 4 cases are outbreak-related, 4 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 6 cases are community acquired, 1 case is travel related outside of North America, and 5 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 11,517 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 68 resolved cases today.

Deaths

The Health Unit announced two new deaths from COVID-19 today bringing the local death toll to 334.

They say a man in his 80s from the community and man in his 90s from the community passed away.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 59 hospitalizations today: 50 people in acute care (9 less today), and 9 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
