2 New Deaths, 19 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Tuesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 19 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Tuesday, bringing the local total to 12,393.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 12,374 on Monday February 8th to 12,393 on Tuesday February 9th and 314 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 2 cases are outbreak-related, 5 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 4 cases are community acquired, and 7 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 11,734 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 91 resolved cases today.

Deaths

The Health Unit announced two additional deaths from COVID-19 today bringing the local death toll to 345.

They say a man in his 80s from long-term care and a woman in her 90s from the community passed away.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 53 hospitalizations today: 41 people in acute care, and 12 people in the ICU (2 more today) with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
