Public Board Trustees Select Leadership

Trustee Alicia Higgison has been elected, by her colleagues, to be Chairperson of the Greater Essex County District School Board’s Board of Trustees for the next 12 months.

This is Higgison’s first opportunity to lead the Board. She has previously served one year as Chairperson of Education Committee. She is in her first term with the Board.

Trustee Cathy Cooke was acclaimed as Vice-Chairperson. She is in her first term as a GECDSB Trustee.

The chairperson of the Education Committee will be Aimee Omstead.

The chairperson of the Operations and Finance Committee will be Sarah Cipkar.

The new Board of Trustees will hold its first regular public meeting on Tuesday, December 8th.
