2 New Deaths, 157 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Tuesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has announced 157 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Tuesday, bringing the local total to 7,211.

Cases increased from 7,054 on Monday December 28th to 7,211 on Tuesday December 29th and 1,797 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 16 cases are outbreak related, and 141 cases are still being investigated.

They say 5,285 people locally have recovered (an increase of 62 recoveries today).

As of Tuesday, the Health Unit is reporting two new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the local death toll to 129. The Health Unit says a man in his 70s from long-term care and a woman in her 70s from the community, passed away.

Hospitalizations

As of Tuesday, the Health Unit lists 79 hospitalizations: 62 people in acute care, and 17 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
