Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health, has rescinded the Influenza A outbreak declared November 3rd, in a long-term care home.
This update is in response to yesterday’s news release reporting the first confirmed case of Influenza A in Windsor and Essex County. The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has since been in contact with the lab and has received confirmation that the case reported yesterday is a false positive. As a result, there are currently no confirmed cases of Influenza A in Windsor and Essex County at this time.
