The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has announced 9 new cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, bringing the local total to 2,900. They say 2,752 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 2,891 on Friday November 6th to 2,900 on Saturday November 7th and 72 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.
The Health Unit says 4 cases are community acquired, 2 cases are travel related, 2 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, and 1 case is a resident of a retirement home.
There have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Saturday and the local death toll stands at 76.
As of Saturday, the Health Unit lists 3 people as hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex, and 1 person in the ICU. Three hospitalizations are listed at Windsor Regional Hospital.
Long-term Care / Retirement Home Outbreaks
As of Saturday there are three outbreaks:
- Lifetimes on Riverside (Windsor) has 4 resident cases and 4 staff cases (1 more resident case compared to yesterday)
- Iller Lodge (Essex) has 4 resident cases and 1 staff case
- Riverside Place (Windsor) is now under outbreak as of Saturday with 2 staff cases
