The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has announced 22 new cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, bringing the local total to 2,864. They say 2,711 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 2,842 on Sunday November 1st to 2,864 on Monday November 2nd and 77 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.
The Health Unit says 3 cases are local healthcare workers, 1 case is a healthcare worker who works in Michigan, 3 cases are residents of long-term care and retirement homes, 3 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 3 cases are community acquired, and 9 cases are still under investigation.
There have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Monday and the local death toll stands at 76.
As of Monday, the Health Unit lists 1 person as hospitalized with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex, and 1 person in the ICU. One hospitalization is listed at Windsor Regional Hospital.
Long-term Care / Retirement Home Outbreaks
As of Monday there are two outbreaks:
- Lifetimes on Riverside (Windsor) has 2 resident cases and 3 staff cases (an increase of 4 cases today)
- Iller Lodge (Essex) has 2 resident cases and 1 staff case (an increase of 2 cases today)
