VON Windsor-Essex is celebrating a huge accomplishment.
As of September 15th, Meals on Wheels volunteers have delivered 8,920 meals thanks to the Ontario Community Support Association’s funding support.
VON Meals on Wheels received $55,750.00 from OCSA in support of providing our communities most vulnerable with meals and other essentials they need to stay safe at home.
VON began free meal delivery on July 21st with the help of the Unemployed Help Centre, Community Living Windsor, Life After 50, The Women’s Shelter and Family Respite Services.
“This is an amazing achievement. Thank you to our Meals on Wheels and UHC team for pulling together and making this happen for our clients and community. Together with your hard work and the financial support of OCSA and our VON Community Board, we have invested over $65,000 to deliver free and subsidized meals for vulnerable seniors and those in need across Windsor since the start of COVID-19. That is something to be incredibly proud of,” said Stephanie Segave, Program Manager.
