LaSalle Police have a new look.

Uniformed Officers of the LaSalle Police Service have worn the old patch on their uniforms since 1976 that was designed by Sandwich West Police Constable Howard Duffy.

The design of the flash was simple, classy and easily identifiable, not to mention one that was sought after by many collectors. In 1991, the Township of Sandwich West was incorporated as the Town of LaSalle. At that time, Sergeant Dave Dean modified the shoulder flash to reflect the name change the officers continued to wear until 2020.

Looking to refresh the look, retired Sergeant Dave Dean along with Deputy Chief Kevin Beaudoin produced the new look.

In keeping some of the history and lineage intact, the new shoulder flash incorporates a crown and shield surrounded by six maple leaves seen at the center of the flash.

The design was taken one step further to include the new LaSalle Police motto “Dedicated to Serve”.

This new shoulder flash will adorn the uniforms of every uniformed officer of the LaSalle Police Service beginning in October 2020. .
