LaSalle is looking at painting a rainbow crosswalk in the Town.

Many municipalities across Ontario are implementing rainbow crosswalks to show support and inclusion within their municipalities for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Town is looking to paint the crosswalk at the busy intersection of Malden and Normandy. This intersection had the Townhall on the northeast corner.

The crosswalk goes to town council for approval this Tuesday. If approved, it will be painted in the spring of 2021 at the cost of approximately $12,000 to $17,000.  Costs include removal of the existing white zebra strip crosswalk and the new crosswalk colors placed.
