Water sampling tests done on the water at Sandpoint Beach have shown E.coli levels of greater than 1,000.
Access to the water at Sandpoint Beach is prohibited, and city staff will be on site at Sandpoint Beach during normal hours of operation to remind beach users that water access is prohibited.
Use of the sand area will be permitted as long as participants are adhering to physical distancing and other safety protocol currently in place.
Additional warning tape will be installed at the beach to remind residents that they cannot enter the swimming area.
