Lakeshore’s Town Hall will reopen to the public on Tuesday with restrictions on individuals permitted in the building.

A maximum of two people will be permitted in the lobby at any time and self-distancing spots are painted on the ground to identify six foot increments for those waiting. Stanchions are setup to separate the finance payment area from the front counter.

In-person payments for municipal bills including tax, water, permits and applications will now be permitted with a limit of one customer at the counter at a time. No appointment is necessary. Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue to use the drop box at Town Hall for payments, to pay through their financial institution or sign up for direct deposit to avoid lineups and waiting.

All licensing (taxi, lottery, and marriage) as well as commissioning documents will again be available with limitations on the number of people permitted in the foyer. Anyone wanting to attend Town Hall for these services or planning applications must call ahead and make an appointment. Marriage ceremonies will not be conducted at this time.

Customers will be asked COVID screening questions prior to attending Town Hall, required to sanitize hands upon entry and wear a mask while in the building. Lakeshore asks that anyone who has been outside of Canada, experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms or been in close physical contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days to not attend Town Hall.

The Building, By-law and Engineering departments continue to operate at another location and are not available for counter inquiries. Residents wishing to contact these departments must call or email. Anyone with questions are encouraged to call Town Hall at 519-728-2700 or email [email protected] Town thanks everyone for their understanding and patience.
