3 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex As Of Tuesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 3 new cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the local total to 2,634. They say 2,467 people locally have recovered.

Cases increased from 2,631 on Monday September 21st to 2,634 on Tuesday September 22nd and 80 people are currently self-isolating with COVID-19.

The Health Unit says 1 case is a close contact contact of a confirmed case, 1 case is a resident of a retirement home,
and 1 case is still being investigated.

There have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Tuesday and the local death toll stands at 76.

As of Tuesday, the Health Unit lists 3 people as hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex, and 2 hospitalizations are listed at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Retirement Home Outbreaks

The Health Unit lists one retirement home under outbreak (two outbreaks were rescinded Monday afternoon):

  • Dolce Vita (Windsor) has 2 staff cases and 5 resident cases

Third School Case

The Greater Essex County District School Board (public board) has announced their second school case at P.A.S.S – Mason Centre as of Tuesday. The case follows their first case a day earlier at Kingsville District High School. The cases follow the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board’s first case announcement on September 15th at Stella Maris elementary school in Amherstburg.
