WIFF To Transform Riverfront Festival Plaza Into Drive-in Movie Theatre

Windsorites wishing for a local drive-in movie theatre will have their wish granted, for sixteen days this summer.

The Windsor International Film Festival will be holding a drive-in style movie theatre experience at Windsor’s Riverfront Festival Plaza in a few weeks.

“WIFF Under the Stars” will be a ‘drive-in style’ community event that will run from Friday, August 28th to Saturday, September 12th, 2020, Festival organizers announced Wednesday.

Tickets are already on sale: matinees are $20 per vehicle and evening double features are $40 per vehicle.

“We are so thrilled to be able to provide our community with some much-needed escape this Summer with a line-up of classic and favourite films to enjoy,” said Vincent Georgie, WIFF’s Executive Director.

“The only thing that Windsor Essex loves more than films is parking, and we thought, we’ve got all this ample parking down here, we could do a fantastic event,” he said.

Organizers say the event will feature “a slate of family-friendly matinees and evening double-features,” and all patrons must be in a vehicle and follow all of Ontario’s public health measures.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available for sale at windsorfilmfestival.com/underthestars.
