Police Identify Man Who Drowned At Wheatley Provincial Park

Chatham-Kent OPP have identified the victim who drowned near Wheatley Provincial Park last month.

Police and Essex-Windsor EMS responded to the report of a possible drowning in the waters of Lake Erie at approximately 4:00pm on July 12th.  Police said a man went into the water and appeared to be underwater for approximately ten minutes. He was brought out of the water, and CPR was conducted.

The man was transported by EMS but was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Santos Cuc Diaz.
