It was a close call for a family of five on the Detroit River, Saturday.
OPP say that a 13 foot, tri-hull, fibreglass power boat occupied by two adults and three children flipped over in the Fighting Island shipping channel between the United States and Canada, just as two large freighters were simultaneously passing through the area.
The occupants were rescued by the OPP Marine Unit with the assistance of a citizen passerby on a US vessel.
The occupants were returned safely to shore without injury due, police say, in part to them wearing personal flotation devices.
The capsized vessel was also retrieved and returned to shore.
