The City of Windsor will offer a second round of sanitizer product distribution on Friday, June 12, 2020.

In late May, the City of Windsor provide over 5,000 litres of hand sanitizer on a complimentary basis for local small businesses preparing to restart their operations.

Small businesses that were unable to participate in the first round of distribution are encouraged to return, while any organization that attended the first distribution will not be disqualified. Additionally, to support greater community access, and recognizing that more services are likely to begin re-opening in the weeks ahead, any non-profit community, cultural, religious or service groups are also encouraged to seek an allotment of sanitizer product this week.

For the past several months, the City of Windsor has been coordinating the distribution of locally produced hand sanitizer produced by Hiram Walker & Sons  to regional hospitals; first responders; long term care and retirement homes; shelters; and essential workers.

The product on offer is produced to World Health Organization standards and will be made available in 375-millilitre bottles supplied by Highbury Canco in Leamington, up to a maximum of 5 bottles per organization. Depending on turnout, the City of Windsor has enough product available to distribute to at least 1,000 local groups and businesses this week.

While supplies last it will be handed out through a no-contact drive-thru at the WFCU Centre on Friday, June 12th, 2020 from 9am to 2pm. Drivers are asked to enter through the intersection of McHugh Street and Mickey Renaud Way and then follow the signage to the depot tents.
