Leamington Prepares To Cautiously Open Seasonal Washrooms

Saturday June 13th, 2020, 12:27pm

Hello time traveller!!

Washrooms at the Leamington Marina, Rick Atkin Park, Mersea Park, Seacliff Park and Seacliff Beach are now open daily from 8am to 8pm.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, residents should avoid municipal parks and beaches if they are busy, and should avoid using washroom facilities unless absolutely necessary.

If washroom facilities are required, users should maintain a distance of two metres or six feet from others at all times while waiting in line, and should wash hands with soap and water. It is also recommended that cloth masks or face coverings be worn, especially when physical distancing is not possible within the washroom facilities, and that users bring their own hand sanitizer.

For the protection of municipal staff and users, washroom facilities at these locations will be temporarily closed intermittently throughout the day to undergo both routine and extensive cleaning.

“Windsor-Essex County remains at Stage 1 in the Province’s reopening plan for a reason. It is important that we remain diligent in practicing physical distancing, washing our hands and using hand sanitizer regularly,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “Residents must continue to use their common sense and not attend parks and beaches if they are busy, and use public washrooms only as a last resort in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.”
