The City of Windsor is looking into options to operate a modified summer day camp that would include a reduced capacity and other COVID-19 safety measures.
The province recently announced that day camps can operate this summer, but further guidelines will be released and are expected to affect how camps will be permitted to operate.
To accommodate social distancing in city programs, modified camps would not include field trips but official say would incorporate more arts and crafts, and host activities within a consolidated area to ensure everyone’s safety.
Only a select number of centres may offer this opportunity due to COVID-19, and camps would run at a weekly rate of $151 per child or a daily rate of $33 per child.
The City of Windsor wants to hear from the community regarding your opinions on potentially operating modified summer day camps.
