Cases increased from 999 on Friday June 5th to 1,009 on Saturday June 6th.
Windsor Regional Hospital reported the death of a 24-year-old migrant worker as of Saturday, bringing the local death toll to 67.
The Health Unit said Friday the outbreak at Chartwell Royal Oak long-term care residence had ended. One long term care home, Heron Terrace, remains under outbreak as of Saturday.
The Health Unit said earlier this week they will no longer be providing the number of total tests conducted and the number of new pending tests each day due to the province’s expanded testing strategy. Dr. Ahmed says the reason for this is that testing is conducted “in different settings, which is not directly reported to public health.”
