21 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor-Essex As Of Thursday, 13 Migrant Worker Cases

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 21 additional cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, bringing the local total to 826. They said 465 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 805 on Wednesday May 20th to 826 on Thursday May 21st.
The Health Unit says 13 of the 21 cases announced Thursday are migrant farm workers and the remainder of the cases are “in the community.”
The Health Unit says there have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Thursday and the local death toll stands at 63.
They say the outbreak at AMICA Windsor has now ended and there are still ongoing outbreaks at 13 long-term care and retirement homes:

- Banwell Gardens
- Riverside Place
- Leamington Mennonite Home
- Dolce Vita
- Chartwell Oak Park Terrace
- Berkshire Care Centre
- Village at St. Clair
- Extendicare Southwood Lakes
- Franklin Gardens
- Sun Parlour Home
- Heron Terrace
The Health Unit says 14,728 total tests have been conducted since testing began locally and 956 tests are pending as of Thursday.
