12 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex As Of Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 12 additional cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday, bringing the local total to 968. They said 496 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 956 on Saturday May 30th to 968 on Sunday May 31st.
The Health Unit says there have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Sunday and the local death toll stands at 63. Saturday marked two weeks without any local COVID-19 deaths.
The Health Unit says there are ongoing outbreaks at two long-term care and retirement facilities:
- Chartwell Royal Oak
- Heron Terrace
The Health Unit says 16,902 total tests have been conducted since testing began locally and 638 tests are pending as of Sunday.
Random COVID-19 Testing
Random testing continues Sunday at the drive-thru testing centre in the parking lot of the SilverCity movie theatre on Walker Road between 10:00am and 5:00pm.
They say you will need to provide a Health Card and contact information in order to get tested and testing is available to anyone 12-years-old or older.
