Three New Deaths, 439 Total Cases Of COVID-19, As Of Friday Morning

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 12 additional cases of COVID-19 as of Friday morning, bringing the local total to 439.

The Health Unit also reported three new deaths in Windsor-Essex on Friday morning bringing the local death toll to 21. Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health says a male and female in their 80s passed away, and a female in her 90s passed away. The Health Unit says 13 of the 21 local deaths have occurred in long-term care homes.

Cases increased from 427 reported on Thursday April 16th to 439 on Friday April 17th. They say 55 people locally have recovered.

The Health Unit says 3,282 tests have been conducted as of Friday and 568 tests are still pending.
