Changes are being made at the Windsor Public Library to combat the spread of COVID-19 and to mitigate the risk and impact it has caused worldwide.
Effective immediately all programming and outreach activities have been suspended.
“We are taking these necessary and precautionary measures as outlined by our public health organizations to help limit contact with the public,” stated Councillor Rino Bortolin, chair of the WPLB. “At this point it’s just outreach, programs and room rentals affected, but we are considering what closures may look like in the next few days. This is a fast-moving issue and we will make sure to communicate any further decision as soon as possible.”
All scheduled library programs are suspended until Thursday, April 30th, as are all community outreach activities and the use of meeting rooms.
The bookmobile, FRED, will be off the road until the end of April.
Programming and outreach activities will be evaluated weekly and an announcement forthcoming when a decision on their re-introduction has been made.
Room rentals at all locations are also suspended. Staff will contact the impacted individuals and groups, and refunds issued when necessary.
