Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare COVID-19 Update

Late Friday evening, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare reported that they have yet to receive word on the test results from their physician that had developed symptoms that are similar to COVID-19.

On Thursday the Healthcare provider reported that the physician had traveled out of country to a non-impacted area.  They did not meet the case definition outlined by the World Health Organization so they reported to work on Monday, March 9th, 2020. Since Monday, the physician’s symptoms have worsened, and the physician has self isolated at home.

“We have been advised that positive results will be announced by public health and we will respect that process,” read a statement from Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. “The safety and security of our staff, physicians, volunteers, patients and visitors remain a priority for HDGH and as soon as we are able to provide an update we will do so.”
