This year’s theme, “Bringing the Past into the Future,” aims to connect residents, with an emphasis on youth, to the incredible history of the Town of Essex.
“Our community is steeped in history, with something new to learn around every corner,” said Laurie Brett, Chair of the Essex Municipal Heritage Committee (EMHC). “Heritage Week is a time to celebrate the Town’s rich and diverse past while learning how we got to where we are today.”
Events planned include:
- On Tuesday, February 18th, Council for the Town of Essex will present Heritage Preservation Awards to two individuals and one organization which have demonstrated a dedication to protecting and celebrating local heritage. The awards will be presented during the Regular Council Meeting starting at 6:00pm at the Essex Civic Centre (360 Fairview Avenue West, Essex Centre.)
