Betty

16 years old

Betty is the shelters current free roaming resident feline. She spent the first 16 years of her life as an indoor/outdoor cat chasing birds and mice and living quite freely. Unfortunately Bettys’ life changed a few months ago when her owner fell ill and had to relocate into a retirement home. Don’t feel bad for her though, a family member who could not take her home works here and Betty has been spending her days roaming from one office to another, perhaps you have seen her at the front desk!
Betty takes her time to warm up to people and new surroundings, however once she feels at home she certainly makes her presence known and her bravery increases. Although she is doing well here we fear that it is only a matter of time before she wanders into trouble (the dog traffic around here is quite busy).
At 16 years old she is very spry, although she does enjoy a good nap she spends a lot of her day roaming and chatting with staff. She would do very well in a smaller home (less space to get used to) and preferably with no children as she does not want to be picked up. Betty enjoys the company of dogs however she prefers to not live with cats. Betty enjoys her treats and canned food. Her only medical concern is she has elevated values on her blood work that indicate her kidneys are not working at 100% (very common for older cats).
If you are interested in meeting Betty please stop by during adoption hours or call 519-966-5751 ext 13 Rachel would be happy to speak with you about her further.
