The Windsor Public Library will continue being open on Fridays after the city passed the 2020 budget Monday evening.
Prior to 2019, only Central, Riverside and Budimir offered Friday hours of operation year-round. Forest Glade and Bridgeview branches were open Fridays during winter hours only.
After hearing from customers they wanted to see expanded service on Friday, the city approved one-year funding for four part-time Library Service Representative in the amount of $98,412 as part of the 2019 budget.
The expended Friday service hours were proven to be a huge hit, and the library requested the city make the funding permanent, which city council did Monday.
