Hundreds of people came out to Jackson Park, Friday evening, for the lighting of the third annual Bright Lights Windsor.

The City of Windsor’s unique display features a giant illuminated tree in the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens, thousands of lights, a Holiday Market, and a train ride.

The park will be lit every night until January 7th. Here is all you need to know to join the fun.

Hours:

The park will be lit every night from 5:30pm to 10pm.

Parking:

The main lot at Jackson park will be closed, but there are several other parking options close to the park. Find those here.

Holiday Market:

Takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s in the parking lot. Find the schedule here.

New This Year:

• New illuminated signage will help guide you to the show from our main parking area, which can be found in our south side parking lot, accessible from either Dougall or McDougall. We’ll once again offer parking as well at Kennedy Collegiate and our Parks Field House and Main Office on McDougall.
• The WE Made It: Holiday Market, which is sponsored by Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island in partnership with the Urban Art Market, Rose City Etsy Team and WindsorEats will have more booths and more hours of operation: the market will now be fully open on Sundays in addition to our regular Friday and Saturday hours, and we’ll offer a partial market for food and beverages during the week now as well.
• Sensory friendly “Silent Nights” on Monday evenings from 5:30pm to 10pm in partnership with Autism Windsor Essex. The lights will be on, but sound will be muted, strobe elements paused and light dulling glasses available, so the display can be enjoyed in a peaceful environment that is accommodating to sensory sensitivities.
• The park will be open to walkers and joggers on Sunday mornings from 6am to 8am. This will be a great opportunity for fans of daytime visits to enjoy the popular park simply as a park (with a little enhanced scenery, of course).
