The Salvation Army desperately needs help to reach their goal this Christmas season.

With just six days left of the campaign, the local Salvation Army is over $130,000 short of its goal.

“We have a long way to go in a very short period of time; it’s extremely concerning,” says Shannon Wise, The Salvation Army’s divisional director of marketing & communications. “The need in Windsor is substantial; we can’t afford not to reach our goal.”

The goal is to raise $350,000 by Christmas Eve. By the end of  Monday, December 16th, $218,000 had been raised.

“Money raised through the Kettle Campaign allows The Salvation Army to continue giving people in our community the tools they need to rebuild dignity and renew hope–whether its providing food hampers and toys for families at Christmas, shelter, emergency disaster relief or life-skills development,” says Wise.

There are several kettle locations throughout the city of Windsor for those wishing to donate—or online at www.salvationarmy.ca. Those interested in volunteering for The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign can sign up online www.windsorchristmaskettles.ca or by calling (519) 971-5878.
