The Salvation Army has officially launched its 2019 Christmas Kettle Campaign with a goal is $350,00.

In order to meet this goal, volunteers are needed now through Christmas Eve.

“We rely heavily on our kettle workers who volunteer their time,” says Shannon Wise, The Salvation Army’s divisional director of marketing & communications. “Monetary donations are extremely important but donating your time is just as significant. One in seven people in Windsor struggle to make ends meet and this campaign helps The Salvation Army feed, clothe, shelter and empower those in need.”

Contributions allow The Salvation Army to continue operating its life-changing programs, such as housing supports, community meals, food bank, job and skills training, and budgeting and education classes. The Salvation Army gives people the tools needed to rebuild dignity and renew hope–whether that means providing shelter, emergency disaster relief, spiritual guidance or life-skills development.

Last year, over 12,000 individuals received assistance from The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope food bank and 1,800 local children received toys at Christmas.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up online or by calling (519) 971-5878.
