Infrastructure work is now underway to the Brick Barrack and Hough House at Fort Malden National Historic Site.
The Brick Barrack will undergo brick and stone repairs, masonry cleaning, window repairs, cedar shingle and rain water drainage replacement, and access ramp modifications. The Hough House will undergo stone repairs, roof, window, doors, and rain water drainage repairs.
Work is expected to be completed in spring 2020 before the busy visitor season begins.
The site will remain available for special programming and pre-registered tours, as the rehabilitation work to these buildings will not affect any special programming on site.
