Over 20 Crashes On The 401 After The First Snowfall Of The Season

Essex County OPP report that they have responded to numerous traffic related incidents stemming from the areas first significant snowfall.

In all, more than 20 collisions, the majority minor in nature were responded to in the County between 7am on November 111th and 7am November 12th

Highway 401 at the Highway 3 interchange required the closing of all eastbound lanes from approximately 7:30pm to 11:30pm on Monday evening due to a jackknifed tractor trailer.

OPP say that luckily no serious injuries were reported as a result of any weather related collisions during this time frame.

As cleanup begins this morning, multiple new collisions are being responded to in the County.

Drivers’ are cautioned to allow plenty of time for their morning commute considering traffic will be moving slower and road maintenance continues.
