ENWIN Warns Customers Of Potential Scam

ENWIN is sending out a warning about a potential scam attempt.
They say that customers have reported receiving calls from individuals claiming to represent ENWIN, directing customers to call ENWIN’s legal department at a 1-800 number, and providing them a specific reference number.
This is a sophisticated scam that uses a recording of ENWIN’s on-hold audio messages and displays portions of ENWIN’s phone number in an attempt to fool the customer. ENWIN has reported these calls to the Windsor Police Service, and asks that any customer contacted call ENWIN at 519-255-2727 to report the attempted fraud.
ENWIN reminds customers that the utility does not have a 1-800 number, nor would we direct customers to contact our legal department for bill payment. ENWIN Customer Service Representatives will never ask for credit card payment over the phone.
