The City of Windsor announced late Friday that they would let the AGCO know that they are opposed to an Ouellete Avenue location for a new cannabis retail store.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario announced in August that 545 Ouellette Avenue was one of the 42 new store authorizations.
It was to be operated by Kyriakos G Anastasiadis as Rose City Cannabis.
The deadline for objections/submissions to the AGCO on the proposed location was Friday, November 8th, 2019.
“City Council has directed that the proposed location for any application for a cannabis retail store is to be reviewed by municipal departments in the context of the Municipal Cannabis Policy Statement. City Council has also directed the City Planner to submit to the AGCO all comments provided by city departments and agencies regarding a proposed store. In this instance, due to the proposed location, the City is opposed to this application,” a City of Windsor news release stated.
Details on the application and comments from the City can be found on the City of Windsor website here.
