Fire crews work on the roof at the rear entrance of the mall

Fire crews are on scene at Central Mall for reported smoke in the building.
Crews were called around 5:15pm to the mall located at Central and Tecumseh after smoke filled the Dollarama, the hallways and other businesses of the mall.
Firefighters began an evacuation of the mall and all businesses are closed.
There’s no word yet on what caused the fire and the mall opened several hours later.
