The first Urban Wine Festival has kicked off for the weekend, brought to Lanspeary Park by WindsorEats. The event features live entertainment, food, and many wines to try.

The Urban Wine Festival is highlighting the region’s strength in producing Cabernet Franc wines.

“We wanted to focus in on something that this region excels at,” explains Adriano Ciotoli, co-owner of WindsorEats. “There are many wine regions in the province, but Windsor Essex is currently producing some of the best Cabernet Franc.”

Other varieties of wine are also available for tasting, with the festival continuing Saturday from 5PM until 10PM. Attendees are able to try their choices with either a traditional token system, or by the app Token Mobile; tickets are available online at WindsorEat’s website here.
