Eleven new recruits graduated as firefighters for Windsor Fire & Rescue Services during a ceremony held at the Fogolar Furlan Club, Thursday evening.

Graduates Jacob Carter, Hester Kelch, Patrick Lomascolo, Calvin McIlwain, Zack Shepley, Rosario Colomba, Ryan Lee, Brent Mahon, Rick Miller, Harry Stannard and Christopher Wayne received their badges, epaulettes and pledged to serve the citizens of Windsor.

The recruits, who were selected from hundreds of applicants, spent months training in Windsor with Windsor Fire & Rescue Services equipment under the supervision of department training officers John Smith, Brian Bobbie, Dave Doherty and Lindsay Tod.

Fire Chief Stephen Laforet congratulated the new firefighters and reminded them of the need to always exceed expectations in their future years of service.
