One person was sent to hospital after a car hit some lose cattle.

Chatham-Kent Police say it happened around 2am Thursday on Eleventh Line near Horton Line.

They say that approximately 200 head of cattle escaped their pen and wandered away.

The vehicle that was travelling struck and killed two cows.

The passenger was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8000.

The owner was located and the cattle were corralled.
