Two new restaurants have opened their doors in Essex.
On the Docks located at 105 Talbot Street South offers a wide range of takeout and eat-in options.
“We chose Essex because I know the people in Essex, I went to high school and played hockey here growing up,” said On the Docks owner Timothy Olson, adding that the restaurant’s take-out options provide affordable meals for local farmers during peak season.
The restaurant, which opened its first successful location in Harrow Centre, focuses on good food at great prices. Currently, the restaurant employs five people over both locations.
Also opened is Vang’s Restaurant at 106 Talbot Street North serving Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese food along with Sushi.
The restaurant comes to Essex with a loyal following after first opening in Lakeshore.
“We chose Essex because it is in the centre of the County. We serve people from all over, so there was really no other place that I could open up a restaurant,” said owner Tou H. Cha. “Now I call Essex my hometown.”
The restaurant employs 10 part-time staff.
