Essex Launches Tourism Fund

The Town of Essex has launched a new policy for local non-profit organizations designed to boost event attendance and increase tourism to the municipality.

The policy provides up to $2,000 in funding to go towards events which attract visitors to the Town of Essex.

“As a Council, we recognize the importance of tourism and this policy is designed to help the hard-working organizations who help bring people to our community,” said Mayor Larry Snively. “We already have many dedicated community groups who host events, and we wanted to provide an extra boost to help them get to the next level.”

Local non-profit organizations will be able to apply for funding once per year. Eligible applicants will use the funds to assist with the costs of marketing, growing an existing event, or elevating the event offerings.

Applicants will be asked to complete a short online application which outlines the details of their event and how the funds will be spent.
