–The Giovanni Caboto Soccer Club has a new home.

Beginning at the end of April, all 44 of the local soccer club’s home games will be played on the $1.8 million facility recently opened at Holy Names Catholic High School in South Windsor.

The club’s teams, which include about 600 local players, will use the field for about 800 hours on weeknights from Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm from April until early October.

The club, which was founded in 1951 and has won four Ontario Cup championships, has used a variety of fields throughout the city up until this season.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that our players will be able to enjoy such a remarkable new facility,” said Caboto Soccer President Egidio Mosca. “It’s a top quality field and for the family, friends and other supporters of our teams, this will create a wonderful viewing experience for them. We can start to build an environment here that feels like home, and we can’t wait for our season to get started.”
