A popular Amherstburg festival is on the move.

This year the Canada Day Treats N Eats Festival will be held in Jasperson Park in Kingsville as part of the towns Canada Day Festival.

Organizer Kim Hamilton says the move was a few years in the making as the space at Toddy Jones Park in Amherstburg had become too small and had some limitations.

“With little to no trees in the center of the park, it made it extremely hot in the bouncy castles and for the workers,” Hamilton said.

The space Kingsville is much bigger and that if it rains, the festival can move indoors at the Kingsville Arena across the street.

Hamilton also said that Kingsville also does not change the large fees that Amherstburg has, so in turn, they can provide more activities for no charge.

This year’s festival will include water inflatables, bouncy castles, face painting, Border City Barkers, the Windsor Circus School as well as plenty of food options.

“I’m super happy to be working with the town of Kingsville. It was a hard decision, but space was the biggest factor,” Hamilton said.

It takes place on Canada Day from 11am to 10pm with fireworks at dusk.
